Overview of log file management

Table 3 provides the names, locations, and descriptions of RAS1 log files. The log file names adhere to the following naming convention:

Windows systems

hostname_productcode_program_HEXtimestamp-nn.log

Linux and UNIX systems

hostname_productcode_HEXtimestamp-nn.log

where:

• hostname is the host name of the computer where the monitoring component is running.
• productcode is the two-character product code. For IBM Tivoli Advanced Allocation Management, the product code is rj.
• program is the name of the program being run.
• HEXtimestamp is a hexadecimal time stamp representing the time at which the program started.
• nn is a rolling log suffix.
