Setting definitions in Application Designer

You set the definitions for objects that are used in the integration. Based on the set definition, each object shares the data between integrated systems.

About this task

To add fields in the user interface to support the connector, you set definitions for the following objects in the Application Designer.

  • Person
  • Asset
  • Location
  • Service Request
  • Work Order

Procedure

  1. In Maximo® Manage, from the side navigation menu, click System Configuration > Platform Configuration > Application Designer.
  2. Add attributes for the person object.
    1. In the Application field, search for PERSON and then click the PERSON to open it.
    2. On the Workspace page, on the Person tab, select the section where you want to add the three text fields.
    3. From the Common Actions menu, click Control Palette and add two multipart text boxes and one text box.
    4. Right-click on the multipart text box, select Properties, and add the values from the following table and then click Save Application Definition.
      Note: Ensure that the values for Attributes fields are taken from the PERSON object.

  3. Add attributes for the asset object.
    1. In the List view, in the Application field, search for ASSET and then click ASSET to open it.
    2. On the Asset tab, use the same process as you used for the PERSON object to add and configure three multipart text boxes and one text box.
      Note: Ensure that the Attributes are taken from the ASSET object.

  4. Add attributes for the location object.
    1. In the List view, in the Application field, search for LOCATION and then click LOCATION to open it.
    2. On the Location tab, use the same process as you used for the PERSON object to add and configure two multipart text boxes and one text box.
      Note: Ensure that the values for Attributes fields are taken from the LOCATION object.

  5. Add attributes for the service requests object.
    1. In the List view, in the Application field, search for SR and then open it.
    2. On the Service Request tab, use the same process as you used for the PERSON object to add and configure three multipart text boxes and one text box.
      Note: Ensure that value for the PLUSIREQCLASSID attribute is taken from the TICKET object.

  6. Add attributes for the work order tracking object.
    1. In the List view, in the Application field, search for WOTRACK and then open it.
    2. On the Work Order tab, use the same process as you used for the PERSON object to add and configure two multipart text boxes and one text box.
      Note: Ensure that value for the PLUSIREQCLASSID attribute is taken from the WORKORDER object.
