Installing

You can install, configure and deploy TRIRIGA Application Suite in an OpenShift Container platform cluster.

The OpenShift Container platform is an enterprise-ready Kubernetes container platform with full-stack automated operations to manage hybrid cloud and multi-cloud deployments. The projects in OpenShift Container platform enables a community of users to organize and manage their content in isolation from other communities. Users must be granted with access to projects by administrators, or if allowed to create projects, users must automatically have access to their own projects.

The OpenShift Container platform is an orchestrated environment that provides strict security policies, built-in logging, routes to expose services, and management of container images.

TRIRIGA Application Suite architecture on OpenShift

The following diagram illustrates the basic environment configuration post deployment of the default TRIRIGA Application Suite images on the OpenShift Container platform:
TAS architecture

Where the size of the deployment influences the number of pods. For example, small deployments typically contain 1 pod, medium deployments typically contain 2 pods, and large deployments typically contain 6 or more pods to balance workloads.

TRIRIGA Application Suite can be deployed by using DB2 Warehouse on IBM Cloud Pak For Data, which resides inside the cluster, or by using an external database such as DB2, Oracle, or MSSQL, which resides outside the cluster.

Deployment and hosting options

TRIRIGA Application Suite is available as a self-deployment or as a managed service. A single entitlement allows access to all applications available by either perpetual or subscription licenses.

Self deployments require purchase of TRIRIGA Application Suite only, and the container is installed, operated, and hosted by you, in your cloud or environment of choice. For example, in IBM Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or even on-premises.

Managed service deployments, known as TRIRIGA Application Suite Managed Service, requires purchases of TRIRIGA Application Suite and hosting. However, the container is installed, operated, and hosted by IBM in IBM Cloud and is supported by end-to-end infrastructure management services.

TRIRIGA Application Suite relies on the underlying storage and database technology for data encryption at rest. The storage that IBM provides is all encrypted at rest on the nodes and in the cloud. For more information, see IBM Cloud: Protecting sensitive information in your cluster.
