Changing the TRIRIGA Application Suite update approval strategy

To control when updates are applied to the system, ensure that you change the update approval strategy to manual after you install TRIRIGA Application Suite. This is helpful, for example, to backup the database and any configuration files and schedule downtime if you plan on upgrading the system.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the OpenShift Container Platform web console.
  2. Go to Operators > Installed Operators.
  3. Ensure that the ibm-tas project is selected.
  4. Click the IBM TRIRIGA Application Suite installed operator.
  5. Click the Subscription tab. Then, click the edit icon next to the Update approval status.
  6. Select Manual to change the update approval strategy. This ensures that new updates need to be manually approved before installation begins. When a newer version of an Operator is available, OLM creates an update request. As a cluster administrator, you must then manually approve that update request to have the Operator updated to the new version.
  7. Click Save. Back in the subscription tab, ensure that the update approval status has changed to manual.
