Configuring Datadog tags
For Turbonomic to discover Business Applications and Services and link them with the underlying entities in the supply chain, configure tags in your Datadog environment.
Configuring tags as business applications
-
Configure application tags at the host level in the main Datadog configuration file (
/etc/datadog-agent/datadog.yaml
).For more information about configuring application tags, see the Datadog documentation.
-
If your Datadog environment integrates with Azure, you can import Azure tags into Datadog or set up Azure-related tags in Datadog.
-
Log in to Datadog.
-
Click Integrations in the navigation bar and then click the Integrations tab.
-
Select Azure from the list of integrations and then click Azure VM.
-
Click the Configuration tab. If Azure VM Integration is not installed, follow the installation instructions. Otherwise, click the main Azure Integration link to configure the Datadog Agent on your Virtual Machine.
-
Create a new app registration by clicking Add New App Registration or reuse the app registration that you set up for the Azure Service Principal target in Turbonomic.
Note:For more information about app registration and credentials for the Azure Service Principal target, see Setting Up an Azure Service Principal.
The app registration process generates the required credentials, including the Tenant ID, Client ID, and Client Secret Value. Specify these credentials and turn on the Enable Resource Collection option.
-
Click Create Configuration.
-
When you add a Datadog target in the Turbonomic user interface, configure the Business application Datadog tag field by specifying the application tags that you configured in Datadog. The value assigned to the application tag serves as the name of the Business Application.
Configuring tags as services
