Verify access can be given to a tape pool

Follow the steps below to verify that access can be given to a tape pool.

1. Log on to a user ID authorized to issue the Tape Manager POOLACC command. It is best if you issue the command from a user with administrator authority.
2. Give a user ID the ability to mount tapes in the tape pool you previously created.

   TAPCMD POOLACC BKRADMIN BKRPOOL USER userid TAPE

In this command, userid is a user ID on your system from which you will verify the tape mount process in the next step. Refer to the POOLACC command in the IBM Tape Manager for z/VM User's Guide and Reference for more information on authorizing users to tape pools.
