ATL mounts
Device pools for ATL devices are recommended and are useful when the specification of a device pool name for a scratch mount might be desirable. The device address parameter is also recommended for ATL device pools. If the device address parameter is not specified, any mount request for a volume with an ATL attribute that specifies an RDEV (real device number) will be converted to a manual mount request, even if the real device is managed by an ATL.
For RMM catalogs, the DevPoolCat statement can be used to specify the corresponding scratch categories for an ATL device pool.
In the following example, 3590A
is the name of
the device pool, ATL
indicates this is an ATL device
pool, and NWAATL1
is the name of the ATL.
Example:
DevPool, /* Define a device pool for ATL devices */
3590A, /* Device pool name */
ATL, /* ATL device pool */
NWAATL1 /* Library name */
530-531 /* Device pool devices */
