TAPEDSN command

The TAPEDSN command can be used to list and alter data set information directly. The command includes facilities to query, add, delete and rename data sets. It also provides a facility to query a volume and get the data set information associated with the volume. For example, if a data set volume is freed inadvertently, the TAPEDSN command can be used to redefine the data set for that volume and change the use-status for the volume back to USED.

Note: Refer to the IBM® Tape Manager for z/VM® User's Guide and Reference for additional syntax and usage information on the commands described in this section.
