Cache management
The application server, on which IBM TRIRIGA is deployed, stores data values, which are normally stored in the database, in its cache memory. These data values do not change often. But when they do change, such as in a development environment, you can refresh any specific cache items to retrieve the new values from the database and store them in cache memory.
Item | Description |
---|---|
State Data |
Refresh this if you modify any State Family. |
Security Scope |
Refresh this if you make changes to any Geography, Organization, or groups within groups. |
Workflows For Agent |
Refresh the workflow templates for the agents. |
UOM Data |
Refresh this if you create a new Unit of Measure (UOM), edit an existing one, or delete a Unit of Measure. |
Portal Logo |
Refresh the dimension data for the portal logo. |
Query Cache |
Refresh the Query Data. |
Object Metadata Cache |
Refresh the Object Metadata Cache to flush all caches except Hierarchy Tree Data. You can flush the Hierarchy Tree Data cache separately. |
Extended Formula Cache |
Refresh the Extended Formula Cache. |
Password Type Cache |
Refresh the Password Type Cache. |
Hierarchy Tree Data |
Refresh the Hierarchy Tree Cache by clearing all trees in the Hierarchy Tree Cache, but this will not rebuild any hierarchies. |
Hierarchy Tree Data (with rebuild) |
Refresh the Hierarchy Tree Cache by clearing all trees in the Hierarchy Tree Cache, and rebuild the hierarchies for Geography, Organization, and Location. Note: If these trees are large, this could take some time.
|
Custom Class Loader Data |
Clear any cached Custom Class Loader components and force a refresh. |
OSLC Service Providers |
Refresh the OSLC Service Providers. |
Translated UX File Cache |
Refresh the translated UX view and component files in cache. This will regenerate the translated view and component files for the next time when the flies are requested from the server. |
CSS Style Cache |
Clear the cached CSS styles that are used by the updated data grids. After clearing this cache, any changes that are made to the stylesheet table will be visible in the grid component. |
Translated Dictionary Cache |
Refresh the dictionary entries in cache if you manually updated the dictionary entries or records outside of the Globalization Manager import tool, such as in forms, queries, or workflows. Note: If you changed the dictionary records from the Globalization Manager tool or in forms, any
non-US English users will also need to clear their browser cache so the translated view will be
regenerated with the updated translations.
|
Object Label Cache |
Clear the Object Label Cache. The Object Label Cache will be regenerated when the Platform Maintenance Scheduler (Cleanup Agent) runs, or when the object labels are requested from the server. |
Environmental Properties Cache |
Refresh the Environment Properties Cache. This will refresh the cache for certain administrator-managed properties, such as the Date Field Processing Options on the System Info tab. |
All Caches (Global) |
Refresh each cache globally across all active servers, but this does not include a full hierarchy rebuild. This occurs asynchronously and may take some time to process. |
In the Cache Processing Mode section, you can change the mode to help with data-loading performance.
Mode | Description |
---|---|
Normal Mode (Default) |
The Hierarchy Tree Cache is updated when a record is added to a Geography, Organization, or Location tree. This is the default behavior. |
Data Load Mode |
The Hierarchy Tree Cache is not updated when a record is added to a Geography, Organization, or Location tree. The Hierarchy Tree Cache is updated only when the Data Load Mode is switched back to Normal Mode. Note: Non-administrator users might not have access to newly created Geography, Organization, and
Location records until the Hierarchy Tree Cache is updated.
Important: Use this mode only when you are loading large numbers of Geography,
Organization, or Location records. Do not use this mode in a production environment.
