Configuring the sensor

Before running the IBM® Tivoli® Utilization sensor to gather data from a target machine, you must configure the sensor.

Setting configuration parameters
You can configure the behavior of the IBM Tivoli Utilization sensor by setting the configuration parameters.
Configuring cleanup options
The IBM Tivoli Utilization sensor has a function that automatically cleans up and removes the collection scripts and data stored on the target machine. It is also possible to perform the cleanup manually, if required.
Configuring the BIRT report
You can use Utilization BIRT report to generate reports based on the data collected by the IBM Tivoli Utilization sensor.
Configuring the discovery profile
The IBM Tivoli Utilization sensor is configured through the use of discovery profiles. A default discovery profile, named Utilization Discovery, is provided out of the box. It can be used to perform discoveries as is, or a new profile with customized configuration parameter values can be created.
