Configuring the discovery profile

This topic describes how to configure the discovery profile.

To configure the discovery profile, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a discovery profile and select agent configuration of type SysImagerServerAgentConfiguration.
  2. Set the following required attributes:
    masterServerNames
    The IP addresses or host names of SysImager master nodes. This property must be set to start the SysImager server sensor.
  3. If appropriate, set some of the following attributes, or accept the default values.
    configFileLocation
    The location of the SysImager configuration file. The default value is /etc/systemimager/systemimager.conf.
    clusterXMLFileLocation
    The location of the SysImager cluster configuration file. The default value is /etc/systemimager/cluster.xml.
    clusterConfigCommand
    The command to display configuration information about the SysImager cluster. The default value is si_clusterconfig -g.
    lsImageCommand
    The command to display images of the SysImager cluster. The default value is si_lsimage -v.
    imagesDiscoveryMode
    This property is not used.
    overridesDiscoveryMode
    The depth of file capture for overrides. The valid values are as follows:
    • 0: No file information is captured.
    • 1: Only the file name and file information are captured.
    • 2: All file information and content are captured.

    The default value is 1.

    overridesDiscoveryPattern
    The filename pattern for files under the overrides directory. The default value is "*".
    preInstallScriptsContent
    The depth of file capture of the scripts executed before install. The valid values are as follows:
    • 0: No file information is captured.
    • 1: Only the file name and file information are captured.
    • 2: All file information and content are captured.

    The default value is 1.

    postInstallScriptsContent
    The depth of file capture of the scripts executed after install. The valid values are as follows:
    • 0: No file information is captured.
    • 1: Only the file name and file information are captured.
    • 2: All file information and content are captured.

    The default value is 1.

    nodesScope
    The scope of the IP addresses to which the SysImager node sensors are restricted.
    doPingNodes
    Specifies whether ping sensors are run against discovered SysImager nodes.
