Configuring the collation.properties file entries

This topic lists the collation.properties file entries that the Microsoft® SQL Server sensor uses.

Microsoft® SQL Server sensor uses the following sensor settings:

com.collation.discover.agent.SqlServerAgent.UseListeningIp
This value specifies how the display names for SQL Server instance objects are generated.

When the property value is false, the display names for the SQL Server instance objects take the following form: host_fqdn + ":" + sql_server_instance_name

When the property value is true, the display names for the SQL Server instance objects take the following form: sql_server_listening_fqdn + ":" + sql_server_instance_name

The default value is false.

Restriction: You must rediscover the SQL Server to make the changes visible.
com.collation.discover.agent.SqlServerAgent.timeout
This value specifies the length of time, in milliseconds, that the sensor runs before it times out.

If this property is not set, the sensor uses the default timeout that is specified in the com.collation.discover.DefaultAgentTimeout property.

5com.collation.discover.agent.sqlserver.skipSqlAuthentication
Fix Pack
5This value specifies if user wants to skip SQL authentication before Window authentication in SQL Server Sensor or not.

If the property value is false, SQL Server sensor will do SQL authentication before Window authentication, else it will skip SQL authentication and try only Windows authentication.

The default value of this property is true. This is because default SQL authentication mode is "Windows".

This property is sensor specific. We can make this setting configurable per machine.

Example com.collation.discover.agent.sqlserver.skipSqlAuthentication.<IP> = true.

Restriction: You must restart and rediscover the SQL Server to make the changes visible.
