General electrical power requirements

3931 requires the following power requirements:

System frame

  • PDU power
    • 2, 4, 6, or 8 PDUs supported
    • 2, 4, 6, or 8 line cords required, depending on number of PDUs
    • 3-phase line-line voltage ranges:
      • 60A, 200-240V AC
      • 32A, 380-415V AC
Note: 480V AC and Higher Voltage DC (HVDC) are not supported.
    • Refer to Dual "facilities power distribution" installation - PDU power for the correct wiring method for your particular power distribution equipment.
  • BPA power
    • 2 or 4 BPAs supported
    • 2 or 4 line cords required, depending on number of BPAs
    • 3-phase line-line nominal voltage ranges:
      • 60A, 200-240V AC
      • 30/32A, 380-415V AC
      • 30A, 480V AC
Note: Higher Voltage DC (HVDC) input is not supported.
    • For configurations using a total of six or less Bulk Power Regulators (BPRs) - 2 power feeds, of the types previously described, each with the same nominal voltage. Both are connected to the rear of the A frame.
    • For all other configurations - 4 power feeds, of the types previously described, each with the same nominal voltage. Two are connected to the rear of the A frame, and two are connected to the rear of the B frame or C frame, depending on system configuration.
    • Refer to Dual "facilities power distribution" installation - BPA power for the correct wiring method for your particular power distribution equipment.

  • For HMC FC 0062, a single-phase feed from a customer-supplied service outlet. The outlet must provide 90 Vrms to 137 Vrms or 180 Vrms to 265 Vrms 47/63 Hz single-phase AC power.
  • For HMC FC 0063, the customer must supply a PDU that provides C13 outlets for the three C13/C14 power jumper cables.
