You can log on the Support Element directly or use the Single
Object Operations task on the Hardware Management Console to operate
the Support Element. The following steps describe how to log on using Single
Object Operations.
Log on the Hardware Management Console in the System Programmer or
Service Representative user role. The Hardware Management Console workspace Welcome window is
displayed.
Note: The tree style user interface is the interface for both the Hardware Management
Console and the Support Element.
From the Hardware Management Console workspace window, in the navigation pane in the left
portion of the window, expand Systems Management if it is not already
expanded. This action displays the systems under Systems Management. Figure 1 shows this expansion. Figure 1. Systems Management expanded
Click Systems Management to expand it. This action displays a
list of systems.
Click the target system to select it. The tasks pad at the bottom of the
work pane in the right portion of the window displays types of tasks that are available. Figure 2 shows these types of tasks. Figure 2. System selected and task categories displayed
In the tasks pad, expand Recovery. The Single Object Operations
task is displayed. Figure 3 shows this
result.

Click Single Object Operations. The Single Object Operations Task Confirmation window is

Click Yes. You might receive a message asking you to wait. The Support
Element workspace window is displayed. Figure 5 shows this
window (with the tree style user interface).
