IBM Systems Environment Estimator
The IBM Systems Environment Estimator is a, pre-sales and planning, web-based tool that calculates energy consumed (watts), cooling requirements (BTU/hour), and carbon footprints (kg CO2e) for IBM Z and LinuxONE systems.
The Systems Environment Estimator for the 9176 system allows you to enter your precise server configuration to produce an estimate of your data center physical planning needs.
Log on to the IBM Systems Environment Estimator at https://www.ibm.com/it-infrastructure/resources/systems-environment-estimator/. Navigate to IBM Z or IBM LinuxONE, then to Create estimate > New(or load a previously created configuration). Follow the Wizard to Create new Estimate and enter the General, Base system and workload and installation information. Then specify the quantity for the features that are installed in your machine.
Additionally, you can load a e-config file of the confirmation by selecting Create estimate > From e-config file, which will pre-populate the estimator with the relevant hardware features.
The tool does not verify that the specified configuration can be physically built. Using the e-config file import option provides checking on the configuration.
