Bandwidth requirements

The 9176 Hardware Management Console (HMC) provides you with the option to download full system firmware images (AROMs) over RSF. The image files can be as large as 10 GB in size. Depending on the bandwidth available to the HMC or proxy servers that are used for RSF, downloads may take several hours to complete.

It is recommended that the HMC have at least a 10 Mbps internet connection available, for which a 5 GB file download would take approximately 1 hour.
