Note: You need not perform a power-on reset unless you are performing
IOCP tasks requiring a partition. See the note under How to start the I/O configuration process for
details.
Log on the Support Element in either the System Programmer or Service Representative user role.
Perform the following steps for a power-on reset on the server.
Note: The Power-On Reset task
is prevented from running if the Support Element has locked out disruptive tasks.
In the Support Element workspace, in the navigation pane on the left, expand
System Management if it is not already expanded. This action displays the system. Click the server to select it. This action displays tasks categories, such
as Recovery, in the tasks pad at the bottom of the work pane. Figure 1 shows these categories. Figure 1. System selected and task categories displayed
Expand Recovery. This action the Power-on Reset

Click Power-on Reset to start the task. This action opens the Power-on
Reset window. Figure 3 shows this window.
Note: Before this window is displayed, you might get a message stating: Power-on Reset Busy:
Retrieving power-on reset data. This message closes automatically when the Power-on Reset
window opens.

Make sure that the appropriate input/output configuration data set is selected, and
click Perform Power-on Reset. A Power-on Reset confirmation window is
displayed. Figure 4 shows this
window.

Click Yes. A Power-on Reset Progress window is displayed.

When the Power-on Reset task is completed, click OK.
