IOCDS write authorization
If you use HCD, you do not need to run IOCP directly to define the I/O configuration to the I/O subsystem. However, HCD does run IOCP when it needs to write an IOCDS. You must be authorized to write an IOCDS either through the system operator (IOCP message ICP050D prompts the operator) or through a security product (for example, RACF®). To avoid operator intervention and the IOCP message prompt (ICP050D), see Authorizing an IOCDS write.
