Gateway API
Rhapsody Systems Engineering supports gateway API for application routing and external access management.
Ingress NGINX is scheduled for retirement, with maintenance ending in March 2026. Consider migrating to Gateway API or other supported ingress controllers listed in the Kubernetes documentation.
For more information on enabling gateway API, see Kubernetes Gateway API.
Installing Rhapsody Systems Engineering in an air-gapped environment
Rhapsody Systems Engineering supports installation in an air-gapped environment. For more information, see Preparing to install Rhapsody Systems Engineering in an air-gapped environment.
Configuration management
When you use your current project as a reusable template and create a new project, the new project is automatically initialized with predefined content, including all project usages from the original source project.
Adaptive ports
- Ports connected to multiple edges are positioned based on overall layout context, not just a single connection.
- Locking is applied at the port level. A single, clear indicator represents the lock state, and changes affect all connected edges together.
- Port-connected edges support the same editing interactions as other connections, including manual routing, lane spacing, and bend point adjustments.
For more information, see Adaptive ports and connections.
Access control
As a server or project administrator, you can assign reviewers to projects in your organization. For more information, see Reviewing projects.
General usability
- Additional operations for ports or parameters
-
When you select ports or parameters, the Additional operations menu provides the following options.
- You get the option to view only connected ports or parameters in a diagram.
- You can create definitions for ports or parameters.
For more information, see Additional operations of ports or parameters.
- Improved placement of ports
-
You can add ports by selecting them from the palette and then clicking on the node. Ports are automatically positioned based on cursor location:
- Left side → Input ports
- Top side → Unassigned ports
- Right side → Output ports
- Bottom side → InOut ports
You can also update the direction of port after its creation. Select the port and choose the desired direction from the Port Direction menu.
For the parameter sides:- Left side → InOut ports
- Top side → Input ports
- Bottom side → Output ports
- Creating ports with direction
- You can directly create ports with direction from the contextual toolbar of the diagram. For more information, see Creating ports.
- Appearance settings for ports or parameters
- You can choose to customize the appearance of ports or parameters by customizing their color, label content, and label positioning. For more information, see Customizing the appearance of ports or parameters.
- Improved routing in shared ports
- The ports connected to multiple edges are placed based on all connections resulting in more stable layouts. Instead of following a single connection, the port considers all connected edges and selects the side that best fits the overall layout.
- Improved routing in edges
- The edges automatically avoid overlapping with nodes during routing. When an automatically routed edge encounters a blocking node, it creates a clean orthogonal detour around the obstacle while maintaining existing layout behavior such as lane spacing and user adjustments.
- Improved search capability
- In the project editor, the search capability is enhanced to include both model elements and
library elements. You can now search using:
- Library element names
- Partial keywords (for example:
break,BRE) - Element IDs
Consider the following search enhancements.- Search supports multiple imported libraries simultaneously.
- Matching results are highlighted across all relevant elements.
- Selecting a search result automatically navigates to the corresponding model or library view.
- Pagination support is available for navigating large result sets.
- Streamlined element placement from the palette
- The process of adding elements to a view by selecting them from the palette and clicking is improved. For more information, see Selecting and placing the elements.
