General usability

Exporting diagrams
You can download your diagrams in the SVG format by using Download SVG option available in the right toolbar of the view area. For more information, see Exporting diagrams.
Populating to a new view
The Populate to a new view dialog box includes various options to customize your view.
  • You can define the view name, owner, view type, and select model-specific elements.
  • Choose whether to include recursive members and specify element and relationship types.
  • Control which relationships are displayed using new filtering options for direction and scope.

Quick actions in a view

You can now perform additional actions directly in the view area using the Additional operations menu.

  • Hide or show ports using the Ports option.
  • Hide or show Action parameters using the Parameters option.
  • Modify the element type using Change type option.
  • Create a definition with Create definition, which moves all features from usage to the new definition, creates a typing relationship between them. The usage inherits all features like attributes and ports from the new definition.

The ports or parameters option appears only when the element has ports or parameters. The Create definition menu option appears only when the usage is not already typed.

Focusing on an element in a view
You can now quickly focus on a selected element in a view by using the Auto Fit to View on Selection ) icon. To focus on an element in a view, click Auto Fit to View on Selection () icon to enable it, and then select the element from the Browser panel. The diagram automatically pans and centers on the selected element.

Views

Table view
  • Assign element references by dragging elements from the Browser panel to the reference field.
  • View the hierarchy of elements by enabling Hierarchy mode.
  • Sort columns alphabetically or numerically based on their content.
Matrix view
To display your model elements and their relationships in a structured manner, you can use matrix views in Rhapsody Systems Engineering. For more information, see Matrix view.

Configuration management

Committing changes to public branch
You can commit your changes directly to a selected public branch.
Merging latest changes
You can keep your project branch up to date by merging the latest changes from its source branch, typically main.
Searching by commits
A search bar is added to the Commit box enabling you to search through your commits.

Language extension

Metadata support
You can add information to elements without changing their core semantics or structure. This is done by using metadata definition elements, which you can create and manage in the language extension view. For more information, see Metadata support.

Managing extensions

To improve the efficiency of your projects, you can directly enable extensions from the user interface of Rhapsody Systems Engineering. For more information, see Enabling extensions.

Monitoring the licenses in use

As a server administrator, you can review the licenses that are checked out in the License Monitor page. For more information, see Monitoring the licenses in use.

IBM Common Licensing server

The IBM Common Licensing Server version is upgraded to version 9.0.0.2. Starting from Rhapsody Systems Engineering version 1.6.0, upgrade the IBM Common Licensing Server to version 9.0.0.2. For more information, see Upgrading IBM Common Licensing server.
