Editing references of an element

To meet your design requirements, you might want to update the properties of an element that references to another element.

About this task

While you work in the browser view, you can quickly update the properties of an element that references to another element from the Properties panel. There are two types of references:
  • Element reference identifies an element in the model hierarchy.
  • Feature chain identifies a feature in the context of another feature or type.

Depending on the type of the reference property, the respective feature picker is invoked. Some reference properties can select multiple values.

Procedure

  1. In the Browser view panel, select the element whose references you want to update.
  2. In the Properties panel, locate the reference property.
    For example: for an element of type subsetting, navigate to the Subsetted Feature field.
  3. Click Feature picker, and then select the element or feature that you want to reference.
  4. To create blank references, click the Clear icon.
