Overview

An adapter is an interface between a managed resource and the Identity server. The IBM Security Secret Server and Thycotic Secret server adapter enables communication between the Identity server and the IBM Security Secret Server and Thycotic Secret server.

IBM Security Verify Governance Identity ManagerIBM Security Verify Governance server manages access to the resource. Adapters function as trusted virtual administrators on the target operating system. The adapter creates, suspends, restores user accounts, and other functions the administrators can run manually.

The adapter runs as a service, independent of whether you are logged on to the IBM Security Verify Governance Identity ManagerIBM Security Verify Governance server.
