Deployment of Federated Directory Server with custom target

To deploy Federated Directory Server with custom target implementation, you must copy the configuration file to the configs folder of the solution directory.

When Federated Directory Server starts, it scans the sdi_solution_dir/configs folder for configuration files. An IBM® Security Verify Directory Integrator XML configuration file contains the implementation that is required to load and run a solution. It also stores all of the configuration settings that are specified on the Federated Directory Server console.

  • If the SE_DefaultFDS.xml file exists, the default Federated Directory Server configuration is deployed with IBM Security Directory Server as the target repository.
  • If a file that is FDS_Target.xml or an XML file that has FDS_Target as the prefix to the file name is found, the custom target feature is enabled. Federated Directory Server is deployed according to the custom AssemblyLines and user interface forms that are defined in the configuration file for a custom target implementation.
  • If neither of these files are found, an SE_DefaultFDS.xml file is created by default with IBM Security Directory Server as the target.
  1. To deploy, complete the following steps:
  2. Copy the custom target project's XML configuration file to the sdi_solution_dir/configs folder.
  3. Restart IBM® Security Verify Directory Integrator.
  4. Access the Federated Directory Server console.
