Optimizing database with the command-line utility

Use the command-line utility, idsrunstats, to optimize the DB2® database that is associated with an instance.

Before you begin

To optimize the DB2 database of an instance, the instance must meet the following requirements:

A directory server instance that is configured with a DB2 database must exist. See Configuring a database for an instance with the command-line utility.

Procedure

Log in as directory server instance owner.
Access the command prompt.
Change the current working directory to the sbin subdirectory in the IBM® Security Verify Directory installation location.
To optimize the DB2 database, run the idsrunstats command in the following format:
```
idsrunstats -I instance_name
```
