Optimizing database with the command-line utility

Use the command-line utility, idsrunstats, to optimize the DB2® database that is associated with an instance.

Before you begin

To optimize the DB2 database of an instance, the instance must meet the following requirements:

Procedure

  1. Log in as directory server instance owner.
  2. Access the command prompt.
  3. Change the current working directory to the sbin subdirectory in the IBM® Security Verify Directory installation location.
  4. To optimize the DB2 database, run the idsrunstats command in the following format:
    idsrunstats -I instance_name
