Directory server tuning tasks

You can tune a directory server for general-purpose use or for a specific use for which you must configure the directory server.

To use IBM® Security Verify Directory in an LDAP environment, you must configure the server before you tune the server.

You must create an instance and configure the server with a database. If the directory server is loaded with entries, it is advisable to back up the directory server instance with database. You can prevent loss of data in case of failures during the tuning process.
