Installing the premium feature activation package with operating system command-line utilities

You can install the premium feature activation package only after you complete the installation of IBM® Security Verify Directory.

About this task

Note: The premium feature activation package is not required on Microsoft™ Windows™. The premium features, if licensed, is automatically activated during the installation of the product.

Premium feature activation is enforced through a Premium Feature Activation Package that you can download from Passport Advantage®. This package enables unlocking of the premium features of IBM Security Verify Directory when you start the server. For a list of premium features, see Premium feature activation.

Procedure

  1. Log in as the root user.
  2. Access the command prompt.
  3. Change the current working directory to the directory where IBM Security Verify Directory installable package is extracted.
  4. Go to the entitlement directory.
  5. Run the installation command that is applicable for your operating system as shown in the following table:
    Operating systemCommand to run
    AIX® installp -acXgYd . idsldap
    Linux®

    rpm -ivh idsldap-ent*

Results

You can now configure and use the premium features of IBM Security Verify Directory.
