Authentication methods

This chapter presents information about how to configure the core set of authentication methods supported by WebSEAL.

Successful authentication results in a Security Access Manager identity that represents the user. WebSEAL uses this identity to acquire credentials for that user. Credentials allow the user to participate in the secure domain and are used by the authorization service to permit or deny access to protected resources.
