Amazon EC2 support

You can deploy Verify Identity Access to the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) environment.

Amazon EC2 is a web service that provides:

  • Scalable computing capacity in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud
  • Capability to deploy an Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

Deploying Verify Identity Access to Amazon EC2 involves the following processes:

  1. Locate or create a Verify Identity Access Amazon Machine Image (AMI). Several options exist:
    Amazon Web Services Marketplace
Verify Identity Access is available from the AWS Marketplace. By subscribing, Verify Identity Access appliances can be deployed without needing to manually create an Amazon Machine Image.
Visit AWS Marketplace listing for IBM Verify Identity Access v11 to subscribe and deploy the AMI. Alternatively, search for "IBM® Verify Identity Access v10" when you select an AMI in the EC2 console.
The AWS Marketplace image of Verify Identity Access has some differences to regular deployments of Verify Identity Access, see Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace image for details.
Create an AMI from the provided VHD
IBM provides a Xen hypervisor appliance VHD image that can be uploaded and converted to an Amazon Machine Image.
See Creating an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) from the Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) file for details.
  2. Launch an instance of the AMI in Amazon EC2.
  3. If you want to use the Amazon Elastic Load Balancing, configure the appliance to send statistical data to Amazon CloudWatch.

For more information about how to use the Amazon EC2 command line interface to launch an instance, see Launching an Instance Using the Amazon EC2 CLI.
