Licensing metrics

IBM Verify Identity Access is licensed under two main metrics:

  1. User Value Unit (UVU): A user-based licensing metric based on the number of users with access to:
    • Primary program IBM Verify Identity Access
    • Supporting programs (IBM Security Verify Directory, IBM Application Gateway)
    • Supporting components (IBM Verify Identity Access OIDC Provider, Digital Credentials)

This covers deployment of any environments (e.g. Production, Non-Production and Development) in support of the licensed user base.

  2. Processor Value Unit (PVU): A capacity-based licensing model that measures processor-based consumption by deployments of:
    • Primary program IBM Verify Identity Access
    • Supporting programs IBM Application Gateway
    • Supporting components (IBM Verify Identity Access OIDC Provider, IBM Verify Identity Access Digital Credentials)

See the product license for entitlements for other supporting programs and how they affect license counts.

Non-Production/Development environment capacity must also be licensed, non-production licensing may be available for PVU parts.
