Getting fixes

A product fix might be available to resolve your problem.

About this task

Procedure

To find and install fixes:
  1. Obtain the tools required to get the fix.
    Draft comment:
This step is optional, depending on whether your product requires the use of installation tools (for example, an update installer). If you include this step, describe all of the sub-steps that are required to obtain and configure these tools.
  2. Determine which fix you need.
    Draft comment:
Many Support teams maintain a Recommended fixes document in DCF. Alternately, if your product Support team recommends using Fix Central to find fixes, see the Getting fixes from Fix Central topic template. If your team does not use either of these processes, you need to provide details here about how users decide what fix to obtain or refer to the Searching knowledge bases topic.
  3. Download the fix. Open the download document and follow the link in the Download package section.
    Draft comment:
Instructions for this step are likely to be specific to your product.
  4. Apply the fix. Follow the instructions in the Installation Instructions section of the download document.

  5. Subscribe to receive weekly email notifications about fixes and other IBM® Support information.
    Draft comment:
Assuming that you include this step (which is optional for users to perform but highly recommended for authoring teams to include), be sure to provide a related link to your Subscribing to Support updates topic.
