IBM Elite Support for Pulsar

IBM Elite Support for Apache Pulsar provides IBM technical support for the open source software that is specified in the order schedule, and any related open source projects listed below, for the duration of the product term.

IBM Elite Support for Apache Pulsar does not provide licenses for:
  • Open source software.
  • Open source projects.
  • Any IBM proprietary software.

No software licenses are provided under IBM Elite Support for Apache Pulsar. You must separately license and download any Open Source Software or Open Source Projects.

During the product term, IBM might release additional software that is related to Apache Pulsar, which might be subject to separate license terms.

Exclusions:

Support is not provided for the following:

  • Customization requests beyond the open source software's standard functions.

  • Training and onboarding for the open source software.

  • Integration assistance with third-party applications.

  • Issues caused by improper use.

  • Data corruption that is caused by the user.

Definitions:

  • Cluster: A set of one or more nodes running Apache Pulsar services consisting of brokers, BookKeeper storage nodes (bookies), and a metadata store (such as ZooKeeper or equivalent) configured to operate together within the same environment to provide messaging and event streaming capabilities. These services can be deployed on any infrastructure; bare metal, virtual machines, or containers and are typically colocated within a single data center or cloud region to minimize latency.

  • Change Data Capture (CDC): The open source software components that make up the package: DataStax Change Agent for Apache Cassandra® and DataStax CSC for Apache Pulsar, DataStax CDC for Apache Cassandra®: The DataStax support offering for CDC and the open source projects that are used with CDC and is available from DataStax.

  • Subscription: The user’s subscription to IBM Elite Support for Apache Pulsar during a specified product perm.

  • Product Term: The term for which a user is subscribed to IBM Elite Support for Apache Pulsar.

  • Open Source Software: Refers to the following open source software products:

    • Apache Pulsar: Refers to the open source software that is licensed by the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), and is available at https://pulsar.apache.org/. Apache and Pulsar are trademarks of The Apache Software Foundation, and are not owned or distributed by IBM or DataStax.

    • DataStax Luna Streaming Distribution: Refers to the distribution of Apache Pulsar software and other open source tools made available by DataStax that is licensed under Apache Pulsar v2.0.

  • Open Source Projects: Refers to the following open source projects as made available at their respective project sites or from DataStax.

      • DataStax Heartbeat for Apache Pulsar®

      • DataStax pulsar-sink

      • Starlight for JMS

      • Starlight for RabbitMQ

      • Starlight for Kafka

      • DataStax Heartbeat for Apache Pulsar®

      • DataStax pulsar-sink

      • Starlight for JMS

      • Starlight for RabbitMQ

      • Starlight for Kafka

    • The following DataStax Luna Streaming Connectors and Apache Pulsar Connectors:

      • Cloud storage sink
