Release notes - December 2025
Application build: 2.38.30
As IBM Support Insights (IBM SI) continues to evolve, here are the details of the application's current progress.
Fixed issues and upgrades
Following is a list of improvements and new implementations in the application.
Virtual assets
- You can now easily distinguish your physical devices from your virtual assets, and opt to either see them altogether or physical-only using the new toggle in the Inventory management page.
- Enabling or disabling the toggle affects all related pages across IBM SI, where virtual assets are processed and offer additional data analytics, allowing you to quickly identify their impact on your overall inventory insights.
General updates
- The Call Home widget has been slightly redesigned, with its focus now shifted to the relative portion of eligible assets (represented as a percentage) that are covered and have successfully transmitted data within the last 30 days.
- A significant improvement is introduced in the firmware-related data-points, their processing and display across the application, allowing users at-a-glance firmware status assessments:
- You can now clearly tell when a firmware end-of-support date has not been declared with the new Not announced status.
- You can also quickly identify when the vendor has not specified a minimum or recommended FW version above the one currently running - with the new No recommendation status (in the respective data-point).
Known issues and limitations
Following is a brief outline of usability constraints or challenges in the current version of the application.
| Area | Issue | Workaround |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory management - General | The values in the Uncovered section of the Hardware coverage widget could contain duplicates. | To be fixed in a future release.
As a temporary workaround, you can export the data and have the duplicated values removed based on the devices' serial number. |
| Inventory management - General | The values in the Vendor recommended OS versions column are not searchable while in View services table mode. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Inventory management - Coverage - Service diversity | The Service group names/labels might be inconsistent in the views of different users within the same client profile. | To be fixed in a future release.
As a temporary workaround, the different users with access to the same client profile can clear up their local cache and cookies prior to using IBM SI - that will sync up their service group labels view. |
| Risks & Recommendations - General - Export all | When exporting the entire list of affected assets from any risk category - the columns in the downloaded file are incorrectly arranged, and valuable data is most likely located at the end of the sheet. |
To be fixed in a future release. As a temporary workaround, please hide the inactive (empty) columns in the sheet or scroll to the end of the file to locate the relevant data. |
| Risks & Recommendations - General - Export selected | Exporting only a subset of the impacted assets in any risk category is currently not available. |
To be fixed in a future release. As a temporary workaround, please export all assets instead and manually filter out your selection in the downloaded file. |
| Risks & Recommendations - General | Some OS/Firmware alerts might be missing if multiple data collection methods are used. | To be fixed in a future release. |
