Change requests subscriptions documentation for IBM Support Insights
An Administrator can add, edit and remove email notifications for users to particular types of change requests. This functionality can be used to subscribe individuals, or groups of individuals, to specific change requests for their awareness.
In order to subscribe a user, or multiple users, for a change
request, you may click on the
Add
button
located in the top left-hand side of the Change requests panel.
When you do, a dialog window will open, where you can populate the
users and the change requests types you wish to subscribe them
to:
If you wish to create a subscription for a single email ID, you
can simply populate it and click on the
Add
recipient
button located immediately after the
field.
If you wish to create a subscription for multiple email IDs -
you can either spell them out one by out separated by a comma, or
you can add them one by one by spelling out the first and clicking
the
Add recipient
button, then the next
followed by clicking the button again, etc.
Note, the Administrator can add email IDs that belong to mailing groups and to individuals that are not yet registered with IBM Support Insights. The field accepts only valid email formats - you will get an error message if you type in any text that does not match that requirement.
Once you are finished with populating the email IDs, you will see them in the Recipients list of the dialog. The next step is to select which change request types you wish those users to receive email notifications for:
The field allows for multiple selection - you can choose one, many or all change request types.
Once you are ready with both the recipients list and the change
request types selection, you can proceed by clicking on the
Add subscriptions
button at the end of the
dialog window - that will close it and create the subscriptions you
have elected.
You will be able to see the email IDs and the selected change request types in a table format.
If you select one or more of the user rows, you will get a
Delete
button in the table's header - you can
use to simultaneously delete multiple users' subscriptions.
Alternatively, you can opt to edit or delete a single user's subscription by clicking on the respective icon at the right-hand side end of each user's row in the table.
The pencil icon will open the Edit dialog:
Using this edit dialog window, you can amend both the email ID
of the user(s) and the list of chosen subscriptions levels. Once
you are ready with your corrections, you may click on the
Save
button located at the end of the Edit
dialog.
In the user subscriptions table, the bin icon located at the right-hand side of each user's row, can be used for removing that user's assigned subscription. When you click it, a confirmation dialog will pop-up asking for confirmation if you do wish to delete the item:
