Release notes - August 2022

Fixed issues

Following is a list of improvements and new implementations in the application.

Viewing and exporting inventory

  • The Coverage tab of the Inventory section is expanded and now also includes the ability to view coverage information for assets grouped by geo. This new capability allows users to further drill-down into the coverage details of their assets grouped by Service level or Expiration. And it also provides users with information on the location of these asset groups.
  • The application’s default columns in the inventory tables are now updated in order to provide users with better visibility and recognizability of each asset and its status.
  • Custom properties added by an administrator via the Configurations page are now visible in both a specific asset’s page and the inventory tables. This includes the Main Inventory table, the detailed Coverage table, and the Changes table.
  • When exporting data from the inventory tables, Custom properties are now included in the export, as well as tags that may be assigned to any asset.
  • Inventory exports now include contract data, wherever the information is available (either if this is the data load method or if such details are provided in a manual data load). The contract details are not visible in the application’s interface, but are accessible to the users for further data analysis and insights.
  • Tags information is now populated in all the inventory tables, thus may also be used to sort and filter the available data.

Asset details page

  • Editing is now made possible directly in any asset’s detailed page. Furthermore, when users wish to update a certain asset property in the edit dialog window – the current value of the value is displayed. This provides users with the ability of making minor edits directly as opposed to having to manually write the entire value they wish to save in the field.
  • The coverage tab now has an added visual representation of the asset’s warranty and contract status, wherever such data is available. This emphasis on the two properties’ status allows users to quickly spot assets or contracts that require coverage attention, with a red icon, as well as such that do not, with a green icon.

Risks and recommendations

  • Global filters are now also applied to the affected inventory within risk categories, thus limiting the dataset to what users have applied as the desired filtered view.
  • Editing assets is now enabled via the affected inventory table.
  • Sorting is now made available in the affected inventory table.

Users administration

  • The Users administration page now has an expanded interface, with wider columns. Visual improvements are made to the Add users dialog button as well, which is now also wider, and contains more comprehensive instructions on how to add both singular and multiple users.
  • Users administration page now allows for user search. This allows administrators to easily check if specific users have already been granted access to the client account.
  • Users administration page now allows for users to be modified as well as deleted. This allows administrators to easily manage the access levels and user lists of client accounts.
  • The IBMid field of the Add users dialog window now accepts mixed-case characters, which the application automatically converts to lower case. This spares the inconvenience of administrators to have to manually convert the IBMid to all lower-case.
  • Users with special characters in their names, such as a dash or an accent, may now be added to the users list without having to manually omit the special characters from their names.
  • Users with multiple first or last names may now be added to the users list without the necessity to manually omit the spacing from their names.

General improvements

  • Adding pictures to assets is now enabled. User may upload an image in formats .jpg , .png or .tif and have it applied to a single asset or to multiple assets (using the bulk edit option).
  • The Model property of assets is now present also in the Case History table in the Case metrics section, contributing for more consistency across the application’s tables and thus the user’s experience.

Known issues

The following limitations and known issues apply to IBM Support Insights. Each known issue contains a description, some contain a currently available work-around.

Area Issue Workaround
Inventory - Asset table - Export all After filtering the asset table, clicking the Export all button triggers a download which contains the entire inventory rather than the filtered list of assets. Apply similar filters when working with the exported file.
Inventory - Asset list - Sorting When sorting the asset table, there is no visual representation of sorted column or the sort order. To be fixed in a future release.
Inventory - Asset list - Edit and Global filter When using the Edit dialogue to change an asset's properties, the newly saved values are not immediately available in the Global filter options. Reload the page, or logout and login again, then the new values will appear as filtering options.
Inventory - Coverage tab Editing assets from the Coverage tab does not save the changes in the interface – they are accessible in the asset details page and other tables, but not reflected in the Coverage section table. Edit assets using any of the other application tables or the single asset's details page.
Risks & Recommendations - OS/Firmware Some OS/Firmware alerts might be missing if multiple data collection methods are used. To be fixed in a future release.
Administration - Users Users with an apostrophe in their names cannot be added. Add the user by manually removing the apostrophe.
