IBM Streams 4.3.0
Stopping an instance
You can stop an instance in Streams Studio.
Procedure
To stop a running a Streams instance:
- Select and right-click on the instance.
- From the menu, select Stop Instance or Stop Instance –force. The Stop Instance command stops the instance in a controlled manner. The Stop Instance method is the preferred method for stopping an instance. To force an immediate shutdown and ignore any host failures, use Stop Instance --force.
- This command might run as a background job. You can check the progress of the stop command by opening the Streams Studio Console view. The Console view updates as the services are shut down. When the instance is successfully stopped, the state indicates that it is stopped. The menu updates to contain commands that apply to a stopped instance.
Results
The instance is stopped and the status is updated in the Streams Explorer view.
Note: If you start the instance after it
is stopped, log in again.
