Configuring Telecommunications Event Data Analytics for IBM Streams Studio

To use the IBM Streams Studio plugin for the IBM Streams Telecommunications Event Data Analytics toolkit, you must manually install the plug-in. It is delivered with IBM Streams as an optional Studio component.

Before you begin

  1. Install and configure IBM Streams.
  2. Install Streams Studio.

Tip: If you are using Streams Studio on a remote Windows or Linux machine, copy the contents of the $STREAMS_INSTALL/etc/eclipse directory into a directory on your machine, and complete the following steps.

Procedure

  1. Start Streams Studio.
  2. Navigate to Help > Install New Software....
  3. In the Available Software dialog window, click Add....
  4. In the Add Repository dialog window, click Local....
  5. In the following dialog window, navigate to $STREAMS_INSTALL/etc/eclipse, and click OK.
  6. In the Add Repository dialog window, specify a repository name, and click OK.
  7. In the Available Software dialog window, expand the Streams Studio Optional Install tree, select IBM Streams Telecommunications Event Data Analytics, and click Next >.
  8. On the Install Details page, click Next >.
  9. On the Review Licenses page, accept the license, and click Finish.
  10. To confirm the Security Warning, click OK.
  11. To confirm the Streams Studio restart, click Yes in the Software Updates dialog window.
  12. After Streams Studio restarts, verify that you find the following commands:
    • Help > Cheat Sheets... > IBM Streams Telecommunications Event Data Analytics > Customizing the ASN1Parse operator
    • File > New > Project... > IBM Streams Telecommunications Event Data Analytics > ITE Application Project
    • File > New > Project... > IBM Streams Telecommunications Event Data Analytics > Lookup Manager Application Project

You successfully configured the IBM Streams Telecommunications Event Data Analytics plug-in for IBM Streams Studio.
