Administering InfoSphere Streams

After you set up an InfoSphere® Streams domain, you can administer the product by using the InfoSphere Streams graphical user interfaces or the streamtool command-line interface.

  • Administering domains
    After you create an InfoSphere Streams domain, you can administer it by using the Domain Manager and Streams Console graphical user interfaces and the streamtool command-line interface.
  • Administering resource managers
    After you configure external resource managers, you can start and stop them by using commands.
  • Administering resources
    After you add resources to domains and instances, you can administer them by using the Streams Console or the streamtool command-line interface.
  • Administering InfoSphere Streams instances
    To create and manage instances, you can use the Streams Console, Streams Studio, or the streamtool command-line interface.

    After you start an InfoSphere Streams domain or instance, you can administer the services by using the Streams Console or the streamtool command-line interface.

    You can start and administer jobs by using Streams Studio, Streams Console, and the streamtool command-line interface.
  • Backing up, restoring, and recovering InfoSphere Streams
    You can back up your InfoSphere Streams system files and directories and then restore them later if necessary. In general, you can recover from application and runtime failures without restoring InfoSphere Streams from a backup.

    You can administer domains by using tools such as the Domain Manager, Streams Console, and the InfoSphere Streams REST API.

    InfoSphere Streams provides options that enable administrators, instance owners, and application developers to manage log and trace data.

    By default, license usage information is available for the IBM® InfoSphere Streams and IBM InfoSphere Streams for Non-Production Environment editions. License usage information is not available for the IBM InfoSphere Streams Developer Edition.
