Viewing streaming data in the Instance Graph view

To view the data that flows through an SPL application, from the Instance Graph view, select an output port or a stream and configure the tuple attributes that you want to view.

About this task

In the Instance Graph view, select an output port or a stream and use the Show Data option to configure the tuple attributes that you want to monitor in a running SPL application. Streams Studio displays the data in a table format in the Properties view.
Use the following guidelines to monitor streaming data:
  • The stream must be viewable. You can monitor streaming data from only a viewable stream.
  • Select and display only the key attributes that you want to monitor. It is easier to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
  • Use filters to view only those tuples that match the filter criteria. It is easier to detect unexpected data when you set filters.
