Order modification

After the orders are created, you can search for an order and modify the order, if required.

As a store associate, you can edit an existing order from the Order summary page.

You can perform the following edit actions on confirmed orders:
  • View order and order lines details for the order to be modified.
  • Add a product to the order.
  • Remove an order line from an order.
  • Increase or decrease the quantity of an order line in the order.
  • Replace a product in an order with its variant.
  • Change fulfillment options for order lines.
  • Add, modify, or remove existing order line charges and override the price for new order lines.
  • Add, modify, or remove charges on an order.
  • Apply or remove promotions or coupons.
  • Add or remove an order line as a gift and add or change the gift wrap and gift message details.
  • Change the order address during order modification.
  • View and add notes at order line and order level.
  • Capture appropriate payment details for the change in the order total.
  • Process refund for the canceled order lines if the new order total is less than the paid amount.
You can modify an order only if the following conditions are met:
  • The order is not shipped, that is the order status is not 3700 (Order shipped).
  • The order must not have only Carry order lines. It must have at least one ship or pick order line.
  • The order must not be locked by another user. That is, if the order is being updated by another user and has changes that are not saved.
