Capturing orders
As a store associate, you can capture and complete a customer's order anytime, anywhere
on the store floor for any supported fulfillment method.
You can use the order capture capability in Sterling Store Engagement to ensure customer satisfaction by providing a quick check out experience and capturing orders for products that are not available in Store.
During holidays and peak times of the day, when there are a large number of walk-in customers,stores can deploy associates with mobile devices for faster check out. Customers who are in the store and are unable to find a product that they want to buy can place an order immediately for pick up in another store or ship to home, thus ensuring that the store does not lose the sale.
You can perform the following activities in the store by using the in-store order capture
capability in Sterling Store Engagement:
- Search for or scan the products that the customer wants to buy.
- View availability of the products in the current store, nearby stores, and for shipping.
- Identify the customer and capture the customer details.
- Complete the order capture including the order type and delivery method, whether shipping, pickup, or carry.
- Capture payment for the order by using different payment methods.
- Override the price
- Avail gift options
- Apply coupons
- Appease customer
