Implementation

This topic describes the rules you must configure for receiving inbound shipments.

  • The store associate must have the Instore Receiving resource permission to receive shipments.
  • The store associate must have the Receive a full shipment without scanning package or product resource permission to perform the Receive All task.

For more information about configuring resource permissions, see Administering user group permissions.

  • For both purchase-order and transfer-order, enable Unreceive modification rule for Received status at Line andRelease Line level.
  • For both purchase-order and transfer-order, enable Unreceive modification rule for Progress status at Receipt level.
  • Configure receiving reasons that a store associate can select when receiving complete shipment at once. For more information, see Receiving rules code.
  • Configure default disposition rules appropriately. For more information, see Configuring default disposition rules.

Default Disposition Code is configured in Sterling Business Center for Purchase Order and Transfer Order separately and saved as rules.

  • The StoreReceiveShipment, ShippingCarton and Item barcode types must be configured appropriately at Enterprise level in the Applications Manager. By default, barcode types are provided for the Default organization. When you on-board a new enterprise, these barcode types must be created again or copied from the Default organization.
  • You must configure the receipt preferences appropriately for each document type. For more information see Create a receipt preference.
Enable the Case Content Entry Required rule to mandate that a package must be opened and all the products should be individually received.
    Notes:
    • Based on the configuration, case content entry may be required for a package and may not be applicable to another package. Moreover, both package and product-level receiving are not supported for the same shipment. Therefore Case Content Entry Required flag does not work if Item ID, Line Type and Item Classification preferences are set.
    • As of now, Case Content Entry Required works for Seller Organization and Buyer Organization values only.
