Viewing and updating the cart

As a store associate, after you add a product to the cart for a customer, you can view and update the quantity and add more products to the cart.

About this task

The View cart page displays the products that are added to the cart, its descriptions, selected delivery methods, quantity, the price, and the order total. You can perform the following actions from this page.

Procedure

Adding products and updating the quantity

  1. To view the product details page for a specific product in the cart, click the product name link. The Product details page opens.
  2. To update the number of units of a product that is added to cart for the same delivery method, update the number in the Quantity field.
    The Item total and Order total amounts are updated for the new quantity.
  3. To add the same product, but by using a different delivery method, search for the product and follow the steps in Adding products to cart to add to cart.
  4. To add a different product to the cart, search for the product and follow the steps in Adding products to cart to add to cart.

Editing delivery method

  1. Click Edit delivery method to change the delivery methods of products in each order line.
    In the Edit delivery method window, select the corresponding tab to view the availability for each delivery method.

    Update the address if you select Ship as the delivery method.

    Search for a store or select the nearby stores that has the product available, if you select Pick up as the delivery method.

  2. To remove a product or orderline from the order, click Remove in the specific orderline.

Marking as a gift

  1. To mark an item as a gift and to add a message to the recipient and to have it gift wrapped, click Gift options in the specific orderline.
    To mark the entire order as a gift, click Gift options.

Applying coupons

  1. To apply any gift coupons or vouchers to the order to help the customers avail discounts, click Coupons applied.
    Scan or enter the coupon code. The total discount applicable as per the coupon is shown.

Viewing order total and adding charges

  1. To view the breakup of the order total and to add or modify charges, click Order total.
    The Add/Modify charges window opens. The total price of all the items in the order along with taxes, charges, and discount is displayed.
    1. To add new charges, such as additional tax, installation charges, or appeasement discounts, click Add charges.
    2. Select the Charge category, Charge name, and Amount.
      Note: You can add a specific charge only once.
    3. The Notes field is automatically updated to display the charge and amount added. You can edit the note to add more details.
    4. Click Apply and Close.

Identifying the customer

  1. To update the order with an existing shipping address or to add a shipping address to the order, click Identify customer.
    Note: It is mandatory to identify the customer if the order contains any pick or ship order lines.
    1. If the customer is an existing customer of the store, search for the customer by first name, last name, phone number, or email address. Select the relevant customer from the search results, and click OK.
      To change the address of the existing customer, click Choose another address and select from the list of other available addresses or click Add new address to add a new address.
    2. If it is a new customer, in the New customer tab of the Identify customer window, enter the address details and set it as the default shipping or billing address. Click Save.
  2. Click Continue after you have updated all the details in the View cart page.
    The Payment capture page is displayed.
    Note:
    • In case of serial-tracked products, you must scan the serial number before proceeding to the Payment capture screen for carry delivery method order lines. You can use the Scan product action to capture the serial number information for serial-tracked products.
    • The application performs an availability check of products in the order when you click Continue. If inventory is not available for the order lines, you will not be able to proceed to the payment page.
