Picking products in batches based on shipments in Store Inventory Management (SIM)-disabled stores

Batch picking helps to optimize your backroom pick process. You can pick products for multiple orders in batches and later sort them into shipments appropriately. If your store does not have Store Inventory Management enabled, you can use shipment-based batch picking.

About this task

Sterling Store Engagement supports sort while picking and sort after picking for shipment-based batch picking in Store Inventory Management (SIM)-disabled stores:
  • Sort while pick. Store associate picks the products in the batch and sorts and places the products into different totes. Each tote is associated with an order in the batch. The totes are then staged to a staging location.
  • Sort after pick. Store associates pick all the products in the batch, but the products are not placed in totes that are associated with orders. The picked products are sorted into different orders during the staging process.
