Performing backroom pick

You can pick products that belong to an order from the backroom area of a store and perform the appropriate tasks to fulfill the order.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Sterling Store Engagement and switch to the Order Fulfillment View by using the eye icon.
  2. You can start backroom pick from the Pick Orders portlet in one of the following ways:
    • Scan the order or shipment number. The Pick Order screen opens. You can skip step 3.
    • Click Not Started to view the orders that are yet to be picked or click In Progress to view the orders that are being picked. To see all the orders that can be picked, click the count displayed at the center of the portlet. The Pickup orders list screen displays orders appropriately under the Pickup from Store and Ship from Store tabs.
To refine the order search results, perform the following steps:
      1. Click the filter icon and select the order statuses as required.
      2. Click Apply. The orders are filtered accordingly. If you want to remove the filters applied to the list, click Reset.
To sort the order search results, perform the following steps:
      1. Click Sort by.
      2. Choose to sort the orders by Oldest to Newest or Newest to Oldest expected ship date or pickup date.
      3. Click Apply. The orders are sorted accordingly.
    • Alternatively, click Advanced Search. In the Assigned To field, enter the name of the store associate to search orders that are assigned to that store associate. If the search results in a single order, the Pickup Order screen opens. If the search results in multiple orders, the Shipment search results screen opens.
  3. Click either Pick Order or Continue Pick. The Pick Order screen opens.
    • If you choose to pick an order that is already being picked by another store associate, you are prompted with an appropriate message to either Start Over, Continue Pick or Cancel. If you choose to Start Over, the picked up quantity will be reset, the order is assigned to you and you can start picking the products. If you choose to Continue Pick, you can resume picking from where the earlier associate left. If you choose to Cancel, you will be taken to the Home page.
    • When the store associate chooses to perform backroom pick for an order that is already being picked as part of a batch, a confirmation dialog shows the batches in which the order is being picked, tote numbers, staging locations, and assigned user details. The store associate can click either Start Over to pick the products outside the batch or Cancel, which takes the associate to the Shipment Summary screen.
  4. Scan the products or enter the product identifier. The scanned product is highlighted and the picked up quantity is incremented by the scanned quantity, if valid.
    • If a bar code scanner is not integrated, you can manually enter the picked quantity and click Update until all the quantity that belongs to the order is picked. You can also use the - and + buttons for this purpose.
    • If you want to pick all the products, click Pick All .
    • If there is a shortage of products, click Record Shortage. The RECORD SHORTAGE window opens.
      1. Select an appropriate shortage reason.
      2. Click OK. The shorted quantity is displayed.
  5. Click the Edit icon and scan the staging location barcode or manually enter the location name and press Enter and then click OK to assign the staging location. You can also remove a staging location by clicking the x icon against it.
  6. Click Finish Pick. The Shipment Summary screen opens.
