Configuring customer pickup

To configure customer pickup, enable appropriate resource permissions and set up bar code types and verification reason codes.

Applications Manager

  • Resource permissions

    Enable the Customer pickup resource permission. For more information, see Administering user group permissions.

  • Bar code types

    Configure the following bar code types for your store's enterprise:

    • Store Outbound Shipment. Used in the customer pickup portlet to find the matching shipment or order. The bar code should have following sources configured:
      • Shipment: External service. The bar code validation source is YCD_Translate_BarCode_InboundShipment.
      • Order: External service. The bar code validation source is YCD_Translate_BarCode_OrderNo.
    • Item. Used to scan non-serialized and serialized products in the customer pickup screen. The bar code should have following sources configured:
      • Item ID: The bar code validation source is Item.
      • Serial: The bar code validation source is SIM Serial.
    By default, bar code types are provided for the default organization. When you set up a new enterprise, you must create these bar code types created again or copy it from the Default organization. For more information, see Configuring bar codes.

Sterling Business Center

  • Verification reason codes

    Configure verification reason codes in Sterling Business Center using System Setup > Store Administration > Customer Pickup Rules > Customer Pickup Verification Criteria. For more information, see Manage customer pickup verification criteria.

  • Shortage reasons

    Configure customer pickup shortage reason codes in Sterling Business Center using System Setup > Store Administration > Customer Pickup Rules > Customer Pickup Shortage Resolution. For more information about configuring the shortage resolutions for customer pickup process, see Configuring customer pickup shortage resolutions.
