Setting up a developer toolkit environment
Before you can begin creating custom extensions for Sterling Store Engagement, you must set up your developer toolkit environment for creating and testing extensions for your service applications.
To create the developer toolkit environment on your local machine, you must download the IBM® Order Management Developer Toolkit and set up a developer toolkit environment on your local machine.
- Docker-based developer toolkit. You can set up a developer toolkit environment without the need to install or configure middleware separately.
- File-based developer toolkit. You can download the IBM Order Management Developer Toolkit and use
it to set up a developer toolkit environment on your local system. You can then use the developer
toolkit environment to begin or continue customizing your Sterling Store Engagement and other
Sterling
Order Management System applications.
Note: If you are currently using the file-based developer toolkit, IBM recommends migrating to the docker-based developer toolkit.
You, or your business partner, are responsible for planning, creating, and owning this environment, and connecting this environment with your source code repository.
