Transitioning functionality from AngularJS to Angular framework

Review the list of capabilities present in the AngularJS framework, enhanced capabilities, and new capabilities that are introduced in the Angular framework. These features are applicable for both software as a service (SaaS) and on premises.
Note: The Store Inventory Management capability is available only as a software as a service (SaaS) offering.
Generic
  • AngularJS-based Sterling Store Engagement (legacy)

    Supports capability only for Order fulfillment task.

  • What is changed in Angular-based Sterling Store Engagement (next-generation)
    • As store associates usually work on a single task at a time, the application does not support multi-tab capability.
    • Improved system performance.
  • What is new in Angular-based Sterling Store Engagement (next-generation)
    • In addition to order fulfillment and customer service tasks, the application also supports inventory management task. These options are available in the navigation panel.
    • Inventory management capabilities include receiving, putaway, cycle count, move inventory, inventory lookup, and adjustments.
    • Supports serial tracked items.
    • Enables store users to switch between stores.
    • Supports the following modes of inventory configurations:
      • Store Inventory Management not enabled
      • Store Inventory Management enabled so that inventory can be managed in the store.
Backroom pick
  • AngularJS-based Sterling Store Engagement (legacy)
    • Provides the capability to search and pick shipments based on the user ID to whom the shipments are assigned.
    • Pick all is provided as a button.
    • The option to print a pick ticket is present in Order Summary.
    • The Assign staging location hyperlink is provided.
  • What is changed in Angular-based Sterling Store Engagement (next-generation)
    • Instead of the Advanced Search option in the Pick orders portlet, a filter option is provided in the list screen. You can filter shipments based on the assigned user to whom the shipments are assigned. You can also filter by pick status and order type.
    • When shipments are ready for picking, you can print the pick list only for individual shipment and not for all the shipments.
    • The Pick all option is provided in the Actions menu.
    • The option to print a pick ticket is visible during the pick process.
    • After the backroom pick process is complete, the Assign staging location hyperlink is not displayed.
    • The shipment status changes to Backroom pick in progress only when you pick at least one product.
  • What is new in Angular-based Sterling Store Engagement (next-generation)
    • The filter option in the list screen is enhanced. You can now filter shipments by order type.
    • To view the shipment details corresponding to an order, a hyperlink is provided from Shipment Summary to Order Summary screen.
Pack
  • AngularJS-based Sterling Store Engagement (legacy)

    Provides the capability to search and pick shipments based on the user ID to whom the shipments are assigned.

  • What is changed in Angular-based Sterling Store Engagement (next-generation)
    • The application is enhanced to instead provide a filter option in the list screen. Go to the list screen and filter shipments based on the assigned user ID to whom the shipments are assigned.
    • For Pack list, separate tabs are provided for sales and transfer order shipments.
    • The shipment status changes to Packing in progress only when only you pack at least one product.

Customer pickup

Batch pick
  • AngularJS-based Sterling Store Engagement (legacy)
    • Provides the capability to stage all totes or products of an order one at a time.
    • After batch completion, the Batch list screen is displayed.
  • What is changed in Angular-based Sterling Store Engagement (next-generation)
    • The capability of the Edit button that is provided for sort-while-pick is the same for both next-generation and legacy applications. However, when you click the Edit button for a product, a page with totes corresponding to the product is displayed. You can edit the quantity.
    • Provides the capability to stage totes or products of an order one at a time and at a single staging location.
    • Does not provide the option to filter and refine the product list to view only the picked products or products yet to be picked. The UI is designed such that the need for a filter option does not arise.
    • After batch completion, instead of the Batch list screen, the Batch summary is displayed. You can view all the information about the batch, such as orders and products that are picked.

    • The Batch list screen provides more filter options such as Assigned To and Department. It also displays additional information about the batch type, expected ship date, and so on.
    • The Batch list screen provides a hyperlink to go to the batch summary screen. When you click this hyperlink, you can view all the orders of the batch.
    • Provides the capability to view the list of orders in a batch during the batch pick process.
    • Provides the capability to print pick list during the batch pick process. You can also print the pick list from the Batch summary screen.

Order capture

    • For product details, Shipping delivery method is defaulted.
    • After a payment is successful, a window is displayed for you to confirm if you want to go to the Order Summary screen.

    • For product details, Carry delivery method is defaulted.
    • On clicking the product price, the Add or modify product total window opens that provides the capability to override price.
    • Identify customer, Gift options, Coupons, and Order Total are provided as buttons. When you click any of these buttons, the corresponding window opens.
    • In the Actions menu, order note is available as a hyperlink.
    • Order summary, receipt, track order, payment method, coupons, and order total are provided as buttons. When you click any of these buttons, the corresponding window opens. This application also provides the capability to track an order or a product.
    • On successful completion of the order payment, the application directly displays the Order summary screen.
    • Supports credit card, gift card, and cash payment methods. Also, the payment implementation is revamped.

Receiving

    The Shipment receiving list contains four tabs, which are Incoming, Received, Delayed, and Damaged.

    • Receiving is applicable only for the Order fulfillment persona.
    • Shipments are grouped under Incoming and Received tabs. If the shipments get delayed or damaged, then appropriate labels are displayed.

    • The Receiving option is provided under Inventory management persona.
    • In the Receive portlet, an extra hyperlink is provided for you to view incoming shipments incoming for the current week.
    • In the Receive list screen, you can sort shipments from oldest to the newest and otherwise.
Alerts
  • AngularJS-based Sterling Store Engagement (legacy)
    • Provides separate tabs for hot pick and nearing SLA alerts.
    • The Pick order button is displayed for all alerts, irrespective of whether or not they are in a valid status for picking. If an alert is not in a valid status, when you click the Pick button, an appropriate error message is displayed.

    • You can view both, hot pick and SLA alerts together.
    • Alerts are handled in a better way by providing Pick order and Continue buttons for orders that are in Ready for picking and Backroom pick in progress statuses.

      To open the Pick orders portlet, a store associate can click the Pick order or Continue button and start or continue the backroom pick task. If there was alerts where the order is in a status that requires no further action, the store associate can click the Delete icon to remove the alert from the alerts list.
