Index Storage
The Index Storage graph displays the index storage usage.
When a host is scanned by a policy, the anomaly scan software organizes the data in the index into segments. Each segment contains information about the host and the files that are scanned. An index can contain many segments, which can no longer be needed later. You can use two options to reclaim index storage space and remove hosts that you do not want to index.
- Reclaim index storage: The weekly process that manages older segments and removes versions of files that are no longer needed from the segments. You can set the weekly schedule for the process to run.
- Enable unindexed hosts removal: When enabled, the daily process checks for any new backups within the specified number of days for a known host, which has had previous backups analyzed, and if newer backups do not exist, removes that host and all related data from the index. If a host is scanned but later decommissioned, eliminating the need for further scans, the host is removed from the index. In this case, the host data is still in the index but is old and no longer relevant and can be removed. You can set the schedule for the process to run every 30 to 90 days.
Go to to view the graphical representation of the storage used by the indexing jobs, storage availability, and reset the index. Hover over the usage line to see how much storage is being used for a particular date.
