Active Directory
From the Active Directory page, you can enable Active Directory (AD) for your engine.
You can integrate Active Directory (AD) to authenticate user accounts. Make sure that the users for which you enable AD option must have AD user accounts. Each engine handles the AD queries by using the client/server licensing model. If you want to integrate AD, you need to set up AD on each engine.
When you enable AD and add a domain name with proper user account credentials, the following
information is displayed in a tabular format:
- QUERY DOMAIN: The user's AD account is configured with no query restrictions. Certain accounts can limit the number of times the account can query the AD domain before the user locked out.
- DOMAIN NAME: The domain name of the AD domain.
- DNS NAME: The Domain Name System (DNS) name of the AD domain, which contains the domain name and the domain extension.
- QUERY STATUS: The status of the probe operation that occurs when you enabled AD. The status is either Successful or Not Queryable.
Complete the following steps to enable AD for your engine:
- Go the page.
- Toggle the Domain option to enable AD integration.
- Add an AD username and password in the Account section.
- Select Save Changes. The newly added AD account is added to the AD accounts table.
