Registering an engine with a license server

The topic provides information about registering an engine with a license server.

To register an engine with a license server, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Settings > License Management page, select radio button with option as Register with License Server for the licensing option. The option registers the engine as a license client with the engine that is functioning as the license server.
  2. Add the license server information to the following fields:
    • Host Name: The hostname of the license server.
    • Username: The admin account of the license server is always used and cannot be changed.
    • Password: The password of the admin account.
    • One-Time Password: If Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is enabled on the license server engine or for the admin user of the license server, then enter the OTP in this field, otherwise keep it blank.
    Note: Contact the system administrator of the license server to receive a QR code or secret key with which you can use in an authenticator app.
  3. When complete, click Register and then Save and Continue. The Set up Index Maintenance page appears.
